He founded the company on September 1, 1984 in Alkmaar, typical North Holland. Quirinus de Ruijter managed to set up an international conveyor belt company in record time. The secret power then and now: being better than the competition, innovating and keeping a focus on excellent quality. His son, Claus de Ruijter, took over at the turn of the century. He accelerated Derco's growth, partly due to his vision on sustainability, flexibility and product innovation.
